This was a fun project. The good people at ibLE asked us to make a short, clear and characterful animation to help explain what ibLE is and how it works. So we did! The process was very straightforward; we wrote the script, designed the style and animated it.

One of the big challenges with this piece was to get the script right. There’s no voice-over so it’s up to the viewer to read all the information as it appears on screen. Short, simple sentences were the key, being as precise as possible and yet also trying to keep a bit of personality in there - quite a tricky balance to strike!

To help the viewer with reading, we kept the animation super-simple, only showed a small amount of text on screen at once and, we animated each word in individually to draw the eye to read it.
